Audi A7. The customer bought the car without a diagnostic and brought it to us simply to change oil and filters. During diagnostics, a turbocharger malfunction was identified. Upon removing the turbocharger, engine faults were revealed: oil leak, coolant in the V-valley between cylinder banks, leaks at seals, valve covers, and front engine cover gaskets. The engine ran unevenly. We decided to blow through the cylinders / perform a leak-down test and check tightness. It turned out that most of the cylinders are significantly non-tight, mainly due to valves and piston rings. Heads were removed and corrosion was shocking. Pistons were taken out and rings checked for damage and increased clearances. Valve seats on heads were recut, valves lapped, valve stem seals replaced. Timing chain with chain guides and tensioners plus all engine gaskets were replaced. Approximately 80 positions. One week of work.
